A competitive and solid showing was not enough to stop the Baptists slipping to another defeat. A positive start was undone when keeper Grant Lewis couldn’t quite get the ball under control after saving a corner and it was bundled in.

Sustained pressure from the home side resulted in a twenty-five yard free kick which striker Zac Smith smashed against the post with the keeper beaten. Dominic Fowler then went close before Orington snatched an undeserved second just before half time when Battle failed to clear the ball in defence and presented a chance to the dangerous Shane Ryan.

Determined to front up well in the second half, the Baptists were soon on the back foot again when a long throw towards the box was met with an overhead kick into the bottom corner for three-nil. For the remaining 35 minutes it was incessant Battle pressure and though a cutting edge was lacking, debutant Elliott Henchy and Seb Elliott both went close and Smith did pulled a goal back with another stunning long range free kick twenty three minutes from time.
