On a very
cold and wet New Year’s Day, BBFC ran out easy winners in this rerun of the 3-0
upset earlier in the season.
With 5 front
line players missing from the side there fine performances from periphery
players, eager to impress before next Saturday’s clash with Beulah. 3rd
choice keeper Gary Walsh had to play in goal and Stuart Batchelor filled an
unfamiliar centre back position.
Northiam too were stretched to the point where they had to give debut appearances to the willing central midfielder Richard Ahsam and centre-back Chris Mammone.
Goals came
from Bryn, Tom, and Andy Mills with an amazing brace from Owen whose red-hot
boots were purchased from Darrell moments before kick off.
The only
other notable incident was the ‘booking’ of Pat Mammone for upending teammate
Dominic following Dom’s mid-match transfer to Northiam.
