BATCHELOR BOMBSHELL

It's bad luck again for Stuart Batchelor.

Following an elbow in the face during the first few minutes of Saturday's game against Red Lion, it's been confirmed that Stuart has a broken nose.

"It's happened to me 2 or 3 times before" said Stuart. "At best I will only miss one week and I'll be back for the game against Eastbourne Fishermen. At worst it could be 4 weeks out"

This setback for the BBFC midfield man comes just 3 weeks after Stuart's last enforced rest, when he sat out for 6 weeks with a broken big toe.

Alan Cowley faces a midweek fitness test on his ankle but is hopeful to be selected for Saturday's return match at Cranbrook.
"I am very confident of making myself eligible for selection" reports Alan.
However, it's unlikely that Alan will be prefered to the inform duo of Andy F-S and Dale in central midfield.

Red Lion 0-1 BBFC

WHAT A RESULT!!
This is by far our best performance of the season.
Not just because of the 3 points but for the manner in which we won.
Every player played to their ability and worked towards the game plan that we had. As a manager this was so satisfying.
Praise goes out to all players but special thanks must be given to Josh and Chris who unfortunately didn't play, but were still a major part in our team.
A massive thanks also to Ian for giving up his time taking to run the line for us. (Whatever did happen to that flag Ian?)
Have a great week. I know I will.

Christians v Lions

I'm really excited about the prospect of playing Red Lion tomorrow.
Since playing Little Common it's the first really big team we've played for a while.
I remember playing Red Lion in previous years.
If you allow them to play they will hurt you with 2 or 3 very skillful midfield players who pass between each other or dribbled through the defence.
We do have a plan to combat this and it centres on the role of Andy Frere-Smith.
Red Lion do leak goals and with Bryn's current form, I fancy our chances to score if we can get support to him from Stuart, Andy M and Dave in midfield.
There's no doubt that it will be a bruising contest. That's why I need 11 fit men out there and I'm not going with Gary Walsh. Red Lion have picked up 8 bookings so far this year. We MUST keep an even temper and compete strongly without any aggro. I'm very optimistic and can't wait...
